In order to understand the role of several main parameters of pulsed discharge plasma remediation system in the remediation effect of organic-compound-polluted soil
we set up a remediation system using multi-needle-to-net electrodes to treat pyrene(one of the typical polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in soil
and obtained the relation of the soil’s particle diameter
initial p H value
initial water volume fraction
and initial mass fraction of pyrene
on the pyrene degradation rate of the treated soil. The results show that the degradation rate constant of pyrene in soil of 1-mm-diameter particles is higher than that of 2-mm-diameter particles. The initial p H value of the soil plays a key role in the remediation
and acidic conditions are more advantageous to the degradation of pyrene than neutral and basic conditions. For instance
the degradation rate constant of pyrene in soil with p H value of 4 is 0.059 76. Increasing the initial water volume fraction of soil decreases the pores in soil
which goes against the transfer of active species in the reaction system and lowers the remediation efficiency. With the increase of mass concentration of pyrene
