High voltage converter system requires cooling water to cool its converter valve system. The corrosion and deposition in cooling water system bring about great risks. The study on converter valve corrosion and deposition in cooling water by experimental means of conventional electrochemical measurements is time-consuming and inefficient. Consequently
we proposed an electric circuit modeling approach for converter valve cooling water electrode reaction. Considering finite element method and electrode kinetics boundary conditions
we analyzed the current distribution of actual physical model. Moreover
we extracted equivalent parameters from the actual physical model
established an equivalent circuit analysis model
and compared the physical simulation model considering linear electrode-electrolyte boundary conditions and the circuit simulation based on linear resistors and capacitors. We analyzed the effects of different types of additional excitations for electrode reaction based on the nonlinear equivalent circuit
which considers the nonlinear capacitors and resistors. The proportional relationship between the reaction current and leakage current were obtained under different conditions. Therefore
we selected the half-wave rectified waveform
which is similar the actual project waveform for the study
and obtained the relation ratio of reaction current and leakage current of about 63.75%
regardless of the magnitude of excitation amplitude. Considering amplitude-frequency analysis of the half-wave rectified voltage excitation waveform
it is found that the main factor affecting the electrode reaction current is the DC component of applied voltage excitation. It has beneficial to further study on the deposition and corrosion of converter valve system.
