To study the effects of different pulsed power on discharge characteristics in supersonic air flow and to explore how to achieve uniform and stable plasma
based on the experimental system of nanosecond pulse discharge under supersonic conditions
the discharge experiment was carried out with NSPS3U30F2 pulsed power and FID pulsed power in Ma2 air flow. The results show that
under the action of FID pulsed power
the discharge is stable. Under supersonic condition
the peak voltage is 12.3 kV
the first peak current reaches 15.8 A and single pulse discharge energy is 1.317 7 mJ
the energy utilization is low
uniformity is poor
and glow intensity is low. With the frequency increasing
glow intensity and discharge characteristic are improved; Under the action of NSPS3U30F2 pulsed power supply
the peak voltage is 3.2 kV
the first peak current is 3.9 A
the peak currenr is 4.58 A
and single pulse discharge energy is 3.184 9 mJ. The discharge appears as a filamentous unstable discharge under supersonic conditions
but the required voltage is lower and the discharge current is also lower. As the breakdown delay cannot be ignored
NSPS3U30F2 pulse power can only realize single pin discharge. Therefore
FID pulsed power should be chosen to realize uniform and stable
and the experimental results pave the way for carrying out magnetohydrodynamic technology experiments.
