In order to solve the problem of local overheating in the valve side bushing of converter transformer under the condition of heavy load
we theoretically and experimentally studied the key topics in the integrated technology of closed gravity heat pipe and converter valve side bushing
such as heat transfer capacity
type of working fluid
filling rate and inclination angle
etc. Firstly
the theoretical analysis shows that the heat transfer capacity of the integrated technology can meet the actual working needs of the bushing
and the heat transfer inside the bushing is less than 7% of the heat transfer limit value. Secondly
the results of heating belt simulated conductor heating show that the medium inside the current-carrying conductor strengthens its own heat transfer process. When the working temperature of the working fluid matches the working temperature of the valve side bushing of converter transformer
the uniformity of the steady-state temperature distribution of the current-carrying conductor is the best. There are great differences in the optimum liquid filling capacity corresponding to different working fluid types
but it is directly related to the location of the highest temperature zone of the current-carrying duct without working fluids. The inclination angle has some adverse effects on the steady-state temperature distribution of conductor
but it can meet the requirements of different installation angles of the converter valve side bushing basically. Finally
the results of conductor current-carrying heating experiments show that the uniformity of temperature distribution in current-carrying conductor is significantly improved by the integrated technology
in which the peak temperature decreases from 108.1 ℃ to 84.6 ℃
and the maximum temperature difference decreases from 47 ℃ to 3.2 ℃. The research results in this paper can guide the design of integrated structure of valve side bushing of EHV/UHV converter and closed gravity heat pipe. At the same time
the conclusion also provides a new technical means for local overheating of power equipment such as circuit breaker.
