Abstract
Aiming at the problem that the residual particles inside the GIS equipment will move when subjected to the bus voltage
we establish a numerical calculation model of the particle motion and the GIS experimental model. In the case of SF

mixed gas as the insulating medium
we perform the simulation studies on the particle motion characteristics in the case of different particles and capture of metal particles by different particle traps. The simulation found that
under AC voltage
metal particles will frequently reciprocate up and down. The higher the density of metal particles is
the lower the collision frequency and the maximum take-off height will be. The particle trap will change the electric field distribution inside the GIS equipment and the depth of different particle traps. The depth and s
hape have effects on the success rate of the captured particles
and the greater the trap depth is
the easier it is to capture the metal particles. Finally
the motion characteristics of the metal particles were recorded by performing corresponding experiments in the GIS experimental model.
