Abstract:
With the gradual increase of renewables in power system, the flexibility of power system is reduced. To realize the full consumption of renewables, the power system needs to dispatch a large amount of peaking power to accommodate the renewables, which will not only reduce the safety and economy of the power system, but also hinder the clean low-carbon transitionof the power system. In this paper, from the perspective of the overall power consumption cost of the whole society, we propose a method to calculate the reasonable curtailment rate of renewables under certain renewable energy consumption quota obligation. Through simulation analysis, the reasonable curtailment rate of different provinces is calculated, while the influencing factors is also studied. It is assumed that this study can provide guidelines for the planning and operation of the power system with high proportion of renewables.
