Abstract:
Voltage-source grid forming wind power integration control enables the wind turbine to establish and support the grid voltage, and it is expected to help realize the carbon neutrality and new power system construction objectives. This paper reviews the existing research regarding the voltage-source grid forming wind turbines. First, typical grid forming techniques which have been widely applied in wind turbine control are presented. Then, the voltage-source grid forming control methods are classified and reviewed respectively for the mainstream wind turbines, from the perspectives of converter system control coordination. On this basis, the stability analysis related to voltage-source grid forming wind turbines is introduced, including the frequency stability, the small signal grid-integration stability, and the transient stability. Finally, practical applications of voltage-source grid forming wind turbines are summarized, and possible future research directions and challenges are discussed.
