Abstract:
This paper proposed a model to solve the power flow of the most general DC power distribution network: DC grids connected to AC grids via a number of voltage source converters(VSCs). Comparing to those existing methods, this paper considered all the VSC control strategies, especially the voltage droop control, realizing the combination of VSC control and load flow calculation. It has also given a detailed and specific formula on the VSC losses. Furthermore, by using augmented rectangular load flow model, the Jacobian matrix is much sparser and most elements stay constant during iteration, which results in an obvious improvement of efficiency. This method was proved to be effective and flexible by demonstrations on a general DC distribution test system.
