Abstract:
The permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) has gained widespread application owing to its outstanding electromagnetic performance. As a crucial indicator of overall performance, its vibration and noise characteristics have drawn significant research attention. This paper comprehensively reviews international research progress on electromagnetic vibration and noise in radial-flux PMSMs. A systematic summary is provided covering four key aspects: electromagnetic force analysis, structural modal characteristics, vibration/noise evaluation methods, and mitigation techniques. Regarding vibration and noise reduction, the discussion focuses on two primary approaches: structural optimization design and advanced control strategies. The paper concludes by identifying current research limitations and proposing potential future directions in PMSM vibration and noise studies.
