Abstract:
Aiming at the shortcomings of the existing electric vehicle (EV) wireless charging system for metal objects detection (MOD) methods that have detection blind zone and low detection sensitivity, a new non-blind zone MOD method based on incomplete compensation of detection coil was proposed. In the EV wireless charging system, two detection coil groups (
A1—
A16 and
B1—
B16,
C1—
C4) were placed above the transmitting coil. Detection coil
An and
Bn were placed according to the diagonal principle and constitute 16 whole zone MOD coil groups;
C1—
C4 constitute 2 blind zone MOD coil groups. Metal objects can be detected by judging the voltage output of detection coil groups. Firstly, the structure and principle of the proposed system were analyzed. Secondly, the detection sensitivity was improved by optimizing the incomplete compensation circuit parameters of the detection coil. Thirdly, in-phase amplifier circuit, band-pass filter circuit and differential amplifier circuit were used to improve the accuracy of the detection system. Finally, an EV wireless charging system platform was built, and the proposed technology was verified by experiments. The results show that the coin above the transmitting coil can be sensitively detected, which verified the effectiveness of the proposed MOD method.
