Abstract:
The installation defect of cable accessories is one of the prime reasons for cable system failure. Given the problems of high experience requirements for construction personnel, low efficiency, and hidden dangers of installation defects in the traditional installation process of cable accessories. The laser cleaning technology was proposed to peel off the insulation shield of high-voltage cable in this paper, the interfacial properties of cross-linked polyethylene after peeling were experimentally studied, and the phenomenon and mechanism of laser peeling off the insulation shield of high- voltage cable were analyzed. The results of metallographic microscope observation and surface roughness measurement show that the cable stripped by laser has a smoother insulating surface and smaller surface roughness compared with the cable polished with sandpaper. In addition, the results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy show that the insulation shield of laser stripped high-voltage cable does not cause oxidative damage to the XLPE insulation. Further analysis show that the main action mechanism in the process of laser stripping of the cable shielding layer is the vibration effect. The interface performance of the cable insulation layer stripped by laser is excellent, so the laser stripping technology can be used to peel the insulation shielding layer of a high-voltage cable.
