Abstract:
Based on the world's first 9F combined cycle gas turbine(CCGT) black start project using large-capacity energy storage system(ESS), this paper discussed the black start process of heavy duty CCGT and the problems that need to be addressed. A solution for black-start ESS connecting to CCGT power plant and a ESS control system with "three-layer, two-network" architecture were proposed. Based on the solution and control system, ESS voltage and frequency stability control method were studied. The power conversion system (PCS) adopted the virtual synchronous generator(VSG) control method. Virtual impedance and compensation strategies were used to realize multi-VSG parallel stability, power balance and compensation of voltage deviation caused by the virtual impedance. Frequency and voltage regulation method for black-start ESS based on fast synchronous feedback was proposed. A real time digital simulation (RTDS) system including ESS, CCGT, load commutated inverter (LCI) and exciter was built and tested. Finally, a black start experiment was carried out by applying a 22MW hybrid ESS to the Hengqin 2X390MW CCGT Power Plant to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed solutions.
