Impact of Contact Bouncing Time on Performance of Vacuum Circuit Breakers

  • 摘要: 为确定合闸弹跳时间和真空断路器性能之间的相关性,阐述了影响弹跳时间的因素。无载状态下真空断路器的合闸弹跳时间是容易测量的。对可能影响真空断路器合闸弹跳时间的因素作了有益的验证,包括短路状态下的关合操作,以及负载电流、单个电容器组充电电流和背靠背电容组充电电流下的操作。结果证明:在正常和非正常条件下,空载操作时测得的弹跳时间与开断电流时实际弹跳时间没有相关性。分析了现有"最大允许弹跳时间的要求"的来源,证明合闸弹跳时间与真空断路器的性能没有直接关系,因此在标准和用户技术规范中对这一参数进行硬性规定是不科学的。

     

    Abstract: The aim of this paper is to identify the relationship between the contact bouncing time and the performance of vacuum circuit breakers.The factors that affect bouncing time are described and explained.It is easy to measure the contact bouncing time of vacuum circuit breakers(VCB) during no-load operations.Considering the relationship between the contact bouncing time and the performance of vacuum circuit breakers,some typical duties such as making/breaking operations under short-circuit conditions,load current switching,single capacitor bank and back-to-back capacitor bank charging current switching are examined in some detail.The results prove that the contact bouncing measured during no-load operations is unrelated with the actual bouncing during current breaking,either under normal or abnormal conditions.The article also analyzes the origin of the currently existing requirement for the maximum allowable bouncing time.The final conclusion is that the contact bouncing time has no impact on the performances of vacuum circuit breakers.Therefore it is not useful to set up arbitrary limitations on the value of this parameter in standards or customer technical specifications for circuit breakers.
