Abstract:
Aiming to integrate the flexibility of the DC-bus design in the separate DC-bus open end winding drive topology with the merits of the single DC-bus configuration in electromagnetic interference as well as the fault tolerant operation, a topology with common mode connected DC buses was used in this paper, to drive the open end winding motor. To investigate the control strategy of this novel drive configuration, one of the two inverters was supplied by a DC source, while the other was connected with a floating capacitor. Strategies for power distribution, capacitor voltage control, zero-sequence current and neural point voltage control were studied in this paper. Finally, the overall control strategy was verified through experiments.
