Abstract:
In this paper, five sites around Guangdong Province were selected with reference to existing offshore wind farm locations.Based on the wind and wave reanalysis data from 2001 to 2020, a detailed analysis of the wind and wave energy characteristics of the selected sites was carried out from the perspectives of resource storage and stability, and the power generation performance of six types of wind turbines and six types of wave energy converters with different power ratings were evaluated. The results show that there are obvious seasonal differences in the distribution of wind and wave energy in the sea area around Guangdong Province, which are more abundant and stable in autumn and winter; wind and wave energy are strongly correlated; the higher the rated power of the wind turbine, the higher the average power generation, but the capacity factor fluctuates with the increase of rated power; the capacity factor of the wind turbine is significantly larger than that of the wave energy converter; considering various factors, the W2E-215/9.0 wind turbine and Wave Star wave energy converter are more suitable for the five sites selected in this paper.
