Abstract:
In this paper, a new type of asymmetric bidirectional multilevel inverter is proposed. Seventeen levels are generated at the output end through ten switching devices and four DC voltage sources. More levels are obtained with fewer switches, which is beneficial to improve the quality of voltage waveform and reduce switching losses. Compared with other inverters of the same type, the switching voltage stress of this topology is lower under the same output level, which has more advantages and reduces the cost of the inverter. Finally, the system is simulated by Matlab, and the experimental platform is built. The results show that the topology and its modulation strategy are correct and feasible.
