Abstract:
Suction bucket jacket is a new type foundation for offshore wind turbines that has emerged in recent years. However, there are relatively few studies on its load-bearing characteristics. In this paper,a tetrapod suction bucket jacket for offshore wind turbine is studied. The influence of the bucket spacing on the ultimate bearing capacity of the tetrapod suction bucket jacket in sand is studied by establishing finite element models of the tetrapod suction bucket jackets with different bucket spacing. It is found that the vertical bearing capacity of the tetrapod suction bucket jacket is not greatly affected by the bucket spacing, while the ultimate bearing capacity of horizontal, bending moment and torque show a significant increasing trend with the increase of the bucket spacing.
