Abstract:
To solve the problem of high voltage stress in switching devices of switched-capacitor multilevel inverters, this paper presents a new type of switched-capacitor multilevel inverters, which only needs a DC power supply on its DC side, and charges and discharges the capacitor through the series and parallel conversion between the power supply and the capacitor to achieve multilevel output. The proposed inverter does not need H-bridge structure, the voltage stress of switching devices is low,and the output voltage gain and output level number can be increased by extension. When the output voltage gain increases, the voltage stress of the proposed inverter remains unchanged and has the potential to work under the field of photovoltaic generators and high voltage and high power conditions. This paper presents the circuit structure, working principle, modulation strategy, capacitance and voltage stress analysis of the proposed inverter, the expansion of the inverter, and has carried on the simulation and the experiment verification.
