Abstract: The purpose of this research was to study the effects of temperatures and solvents on the distribution characteristics of heavy metals and inorganic elements during sewage sludge liquefaction process. The results demonstrate that the distribution characteristics of heavy metals and inorganic elements are significantly affected by temperatures and solvents. 83.80% and 85.56% of Cu and Zn are concentrated in bio-solids. The heavy metals in bio-oils are low in comparison with that in bio-solids and the concentration order of heavy metals in bio-oils was As>Ni>Cr>Cu>Zn. The concentrations of inorganic elements in bio-oils were much higher than that of heavy metals in bio-oils. High temperatures promotes inorganic elements to be transferred into bio-oils.
