Abstract:
A surface patterned photovoltaic glass(PV glass)is designed to reduce the solar cell finger grid shadowing loss. This photovoltaic glass design can adapt to the incident angle variation range from 0° to 23.5°,which can provide a solution for reducing the finger grid shadowing loss effect for solar cells without solar tracking. In this paper, the patterned photovoltaic glass design and the thickness requirements were being discussed, and the optical simulation experiment was also carried out by using TracePro software to reduce the shadowing loss effect. Meanwhile, according to the distribution of light intensity in optical simulation experiments, the influence of this new photovoltaic glass on solar cell efficiency were also analyzed from two aspects:power loss and series resistance, and it shows that solar cell efficiency can be increased by 0.2%-0.35%.
