Abstract: As one of the quintessential non-carbon-based renewable energy sources,geothermal energy boasts substantial reserves and extensive geographical distribution. This paper outlines the classification and development status of geothermal energy utilization technology,and further introduces the basic concepts and application status of shallow ground source heat pump technology,hydrothermal heating system,deep borehole heat exchanger heating technology,and enhanced geothermal system. After reviewing the current research progress and the latest research directions of geothermal energy utilization technology at domestic and abroad,this article looks forward to the future research and development of geothermal energy utilization technology in China from the perspectives of tackling crucial issues in the industry,developing adaptive solutions for geothermal utilization in multiple scenarios,and exploring geothermal energy storage technology. The relevant research results can provide guidance,suggestions,and reference opinions for practitioners in Chinese geothermal community.
