Abstract:
This paper designs a diesel-PV hybrid energy system for communication base stations, which adopts a mode of PV power generation system and diesel engine complementary power generation, and battery energy storage. It is applied to 10 communication base stations in Myanmar and the operation data under actual operating conditions of the energy system is analyzed. The analysis results show that:1) In the actual operation of the system, the conversion efficiency of the MPPT PV controller can reach 98%;2) The 10-year average LCOE of diesel-PV hybrid energy system is only 40.1% of that when using a single diesel engine power generation system;3)Compared with a single diesel engine power generation system, this energy system can save 91% of monthly diesel consumption. The diesel-PV hybrid energy system has achieved low-cost energy supply for communication base stations in power shortage areas, with high cost-effectiveness and strong practicality. It can be vigorously promoted and applied in the field of communication base stations in western China and Southeast Asia.
