Research on extended reach drilling technology and its application in Bohai Oilfield

Some technologic difficulties were faced in drilling the horizontal extended reach drilling (ERD) well with a depth of 4000 meters in Bohai Oilfield.An integrated software for drilling design and operation supervision,prediction and analysis of hole drags and torque,hole stability,hole cleaning was developed.A hydraulic adjustable stabilizer and an electronic adjustable stabilizer were designed,and the water-based drilling fluids were prepared.All of these technologies had been applied in two horizontal reach wells near 4000 meters deep in Bohai Oilfield,and good results in drilling have been obtained.
