Abstract:
In the remaining gas resources in Turpan-Hami Basin, the tight gas represented by tight sandstone gas and coalbed methane accounts for 89.08 % , which is the critical field to search for large-scale reserves in the next step, but the research degree is low at present. In order to clarify the exploration prospect of tight gas in Turpan-Hami Basin, the formation conditions of hydrocarbon, reservoir, and accumulation of tight sandstone gas and coalbed methane in the Jurassic Shuixigou Group are systematically sorted out and summarized, their resource potential is estimated, and the next exploration direction is pointed out. There are five types of tight gas reservoirs in Turpan-Hami Basin, including near-source structural gas reservoirs, low-saturated lithologic gas reservoirs at the slope, in-source tight sandstone gas reservoirs, far-source coalbed methane reservoirs and in-source coalbed methane reservoirs. The oil and gas charging mainly occurred in Middle Jurassic to Late Early Cretaceous. The predicted total resource of tight sandstone gas in Turpan-Hami Basin is approximately 6 800×10

3. Rich hydrocarbon kitchens, favorable facies zones, fracture development degree, cap seal conditions and structural stability mainly control the distribution of tight sandstone gas reservoirs in Turpan-Hami Basin. The main controlling factors of coalbed methane accumulation include coal seam distribution, coal maturity, reservoir physical property and cap seal conditions. Three favorable exploration areas of tight sandstone gas, i.e., north Shengbei subsag, Qiudong subsag, and Xiaocaohu subsag, are selected. Three favorable areas for coalbed methane exploration were selected, i.e., the northern piedmont belt of Taibei sag, the Wenjisang structure zone and the Hongtai-Gedatai structure zone of Qiudong subsag.
