Abstract:
At present, marine carbonate reservoirs are one of priorities and hot areas in oil and gas exploration and development, and acid fracturing stimulation technologies are essential for exploration and development of carbonate reservoirs. In the study of carbonate reservoir exploration in western China, a series of new reservoir stimulation techniques were developed for high-temperature and deep layer carbonate reservoirs based on their characteristics of deep burial, high temperature and strong heterogeneity with a combination of the corresponding fundamental research, technological supporting research and development, and field technical applications. The proposed technique involved a series of new stimulation techniques, e.g., quantitative assessment before reservoir stimulation, liquid-system stimulation with high-temperature resistance, uniform acid distribution and homogeneous acidizing, acid fracturing in deep layer, proppant fracturing, proppant acid fracturing, and multi-stage acid fracturing of horizontal wells. This technique should be widely used and will provide substantial technical support for the efficient exploration of carbonate reservoirs.Based on the current development status of reservoir stimulation techniques, this study further discussed the challenges and future developmental directions.
