Abstract:
The essential oil and gas pool-forming conditions of the uplift in the northern margin of Qaidam Basin including source rocks, assemblages of reservoirs and cap rocks, tectonic characters and its evolution, and types of pool-forming were analyzed. Oil and gas accumulated on Mahai-Dahonggou paleo-uplift mainly come from the adjacent Jurassic hydrocarbon-generation depression. The pool is characterized by more sources, thick layers,a long distance of oil-gas migration, abundant traps and large scale pools. The analysis on the main pool-forming controlling factors of the area shows that three paleo-uplifts will be the potential exploration targets in the northern margin of Qaidam Basin.
