Abstract:
The variation of temperature of fracturing fluid inside a fracture after pump shut-down may affect the leak-off of fracturing fluid, settling of the proppant and closing of the fracture, thus selection of the additives in fracturing fluid(mainly breaking agent)determination of back flowing time are affected in turn. This paper suggests a new mathematical model which can evaluate the recovery of temperature of fracturing fluid inside a fracture after pump shut-down. The effects of some factors on the temperature recovery are evaluated and analysed such as heat capacity of proppant, treatment scale, injection rate etc. on this basis, the process of fracture close can be studied in more detail so as to improving the 2-D hydraulic fracturing design.
