Abstract:
As the largest mobile desert in China and the second largest in the world, the Taklimakan Desert is one of the major sandstorm centers in China. The dust weather has a huge impact on the production and life of the local and surrounding areas.Using the VOSviewer visual analysis tool, this paper took 355 literatures related to sandstorm in the Taklimakan Desert in CNKI database and Web of Science core database as the objects.Visualization and quantitative analysis were carried out in terms of publication time, authors, keywords, journal sources and subject distribution, and publishing institutions(countries),then the present situation, development trend and future prospect of sandstorm research in Taklimakan Desert were reviewed. As demonstrated by the results, the English and Chinese literature output in the study of sandstorm in the Taklimakan Desert can be divided into two stages, namely, the initial stage from 1996 to 2005,and the steady development stage from 2006 to 2020.Besides,the causes of sandstorm, the transmission characteristics and development laws of sandstorm, the research on numerical simulation and prediction of sandstorm processes, sand and dust weather, and desert meteorology in the Taklimakan Desert attracted great attention from scholars at home and abroad,Moreover, related articles were mainly published in Desert and Oasis Meteorology,Desert Research and Geophysical Research Atmospheres and others.Among them,Desert and Oasis Meteorology was the core journal with the most publications in Chinese, and Geophysical Research Atmospheres was the journal with the highest publications in SCI.
