Abstract:
Cotton bollworm,Helicoverpa armigera(Hübner)(Lepidoptera: Noctuidae),is one of the most serious insect pests in the world, and distributed all over the world. Due to its characteristics of long-distance migration and high reproductive capacity,if suitable conditions,it often causes largescale outbreaks and disasters, resulting in significant losses to agricultural production. Understanding the life characteristics and population change pattern of cotton bollworm is a prerequisite for controlling cotton bollworm. As for poikilotherm, climate conditions have a significant impact on its growth, development, and disaster mechanisms. Thus, this article systematically introduced the research progress on the impacts of climate warming on cotton bollworm, including growth and development, body color change, reproduction, diapause, flight, overwintering, interactions with crops and other aspects. And prospect the future research focus,to provide theoretical basis for the integrated cotton bollworm management.
