Abstract:
Insulator pollution flashover is a systematic disaster of the power system and a major threat to the stable operation of power grid. The pollution accumulation process is the necessary process of insulator pollution flashover, and the electric field strength is an important factor affecting insulator pollution accumulation. It is generally believed that under the same environmental conditions, the pollution deposit in the DC electric field is more serious than that in the AC field, and the pollution degree will increase with the increase of the DC voltage. However, artificial simulation contamination test results show that the contamination amount of insulator surface becomes saturated or even decreases as the applied voltage on the surface of the test specimen increases under the same environment. In order to analyse the pollution law of insulators surface under high field strength,a small pollution accumulation environment simulation chamber was built to analyse the changes of insulator contamination degree, pollution ratio of the top and bottom surfaces of the insulators, and charged/non-charged contamination ratio with the electric field under high DC electric field. It is found that when the electric field of insulators rises to a certain level, the electric field generated by the pollution particles on the surface of the shed will prevent the insulator from continuing accumulate pollution on the surface. The research results can provide a reference for the study of the contamination depositing characteristics of insulators under electric field.
