Abstract:
The characteristics and restrictions of the wind turbines participating in frequency regulation of the power grid were analyzed. The original virtual inertia control method of wind power was optimized from three aspects including frequency event detection, wind turbine rotate speed protection and wind turbine rotate speed recovery. A practical virtual inertia control method of wind power was proposed with its specific execution steps suggested in the actual application of the wind turbines. At last, the feasibility of the proposed method in practical application of the wind power was verified through simulation analysis and experiments. The results of simulation analysis sand experiment show that, based on the proposed virtual inertia control method, the wind turbine can steadily recover the optimal rotating speed in time after effectively participating in the frequency modulation of the grid system, so as to improve the power generation efficiency of the wind turbine and provide conditions for participating in the next frequency modulation.
