Abstract:
By investigating the design scheme of flexible DC back-to-back converter station and AC tie-line interconnection between Inner Mongolia Power Grid and North China Power Grid, the PSCAD converter station and AC tie-line were modeled, and the adaptability of back-to-back converter station and the system characteristics of DC back-to-back interconnection were analyzed through simulation. The results showed that series compensation of outgoing AC lines might cause sub-synchronous oscillation between flexible DC system and receiving AC system, and the frequency was about 48 Hz.
