Abstract:
In view of the difficulty of single electron tunneling effect in realizing current quantization, the output current intensity above μA can not be realized at present. In this paper, the relevant theories and technologies in the field of particle accelerator are introduced to explore the new principle and method of weak current electron beam needed to realize current quantization. Firstly, through beam simulation, it is verified that the electron bunch modulation method based on solenoid magnetic field and adjustable slit can be adopted to effectively improve the stability of electron bunch. Then, based on the simulation results, an experimental platform based on a small particle accelerator is designed, and a blocking Faraday cup detection scheme is designed for the current detection requirements of high stability μA magnitude. Finally, through experiments, under the condition of different electron gun current output, the instability of the electron beam cluster is reduced from 2% to 0.3% after regulation, which is consistent with the theoretical simulation result. The research in this paper preliminarily verifies the feasibility of applying particle accelerator to current quantization, and provides a new direction and idea for the theoretical and engineering research of quantum current source.
