Abstract:
The voltage-multiplying multi-level inverter has the outstanding advantages of autonomous boost and multilevel output. In this paper, a novel six-switch double-voltage-gain five-level inverter is proposed. The topology consists of two half-bridge units and a switched capacitor unit. Through the carrier cascade modulation strategy, the time-sharing series-parallel operation of DC input power supply and capacitor can be realized, so as to achieve the circuit's autonomous boost and five-level output voltage waveform. By comparing and analyzing the existing voltage-multiplying and multilevel inverter topologies, the proposed new five-level inverter topology with double-voltage-gain has the advantages of fewer components, simple modulation strategy, and low voltage stress. The experimental results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed five-level circuit under different working conditions.
