Development of an oil level measuring device for transformer oil conservators
The oil level in an oil conservator is an important non-electrical parameter for monitoring the operating condition of oil-immersed power transformers. In diaphragm or bladder-type sealed oil conservators
damage or jamming of transmission components and loosening or detachment of float balls often cause oil level gauge failures
posing risks to the safe and stable operation of transformers. Therefore
it is necessary to regularly verify the oil level of the conservator.Field tests were conducted at a 750 kV substation to verify the performance of the device. The results show that the developed oil level measuring device accurately measures the oil level instead of measurements obtained using infrared thermometry and the communicating vessel methods.
