Research on fine assessment of wind resources based on micro-scale coupling technology in WRF-Windsim
The conventional wind resource assessment methods mostly use microscale hydrodynamic models assuming incoming wind profiles
and few considers the wind flow in wind farms influenced by macroscopic atmospheric circulation.Based on the mesoscale numerical weather research forecast(WRF)and the micro-scale computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model
the internal logic of the fine assessment method of wind resources coupled with micro-scale and the applicability of engineering applications are explored.Firstly
based on the principle of mesoscale coupling
a method is constructed to extract the wind speed profile near the boundary from the simulation results of mesoscale numerical WRF by microscale modeling.Secondly
a mesoscale nested model is established by combining the mesoscale numerical WRF with the hydrodynamics software Windsim (WRF-Windsim)through CFD.Finally
a wind farm with complex terrain in Haiyuan
Ningxia
is used as an example to carry out a numerical simulation experiment of wind energy resources with a horizontal resolution of 35 m×35 m.The simulated data of WRF-Windsim model is verified and analyzed by interpolation of multiple wind measurement towers
and wind resource mapping and power generation measurement are completed. The calculation results show that the simulation results of the mesoscale numerical weather prediction model can effectively improve the inlet boundary conditions of the microscale hydrodynamic model and reduce the errors of wind resource assessment.
