A series of Gallium-substituted Cerium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (YAGG:Ce) phosphors were produced by co-precipitation. The formation process and structure of the Ga
3+
-substituted phosphor powders are characterized by TG
FTIR
XRD and XPS
and the impacts of Ga
3+
concentration on the luminescence properties have been investigated. The results show that the blue shift occurs after Ga3+ replaces Al3+ in matrix
and the intensity of emission spectrum is affected by the concentration of Ga
