Analysis of Carrier Frequency Characteristics in MPPT Control of PV DC Collection Systems and A Method for Single-pole Ground Fault Line Selection
To address the two major challenges in single-pole ground fault detection in ungrounded DC systems—namely, the short transient process and the lack of steady-state fault signals, this paper carries out an analysis of the carrier frequency characteristics in the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control loop of a photovoltaic DC collection system and proposes a fault line selection method. By studying a Boost converter with MPPT functionality and utilizing the distribution characteristics of the carrier frequency signal generated in the collection line during operation, reliable single-pole ground fault line selection is achieved. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is highly reliable, capable of tolerating transition resistance, and enables active detection-based fault line selection without the need for external signal injection. This method can effectively improve the automation level of fault line selection in PV power stations.
