Rapid Reliability Assessment Method for Distribution Network Expansion Planning
To address the growing importance of distribution network expansion planning amid rapidly increasing electricity demand, this study proposes a rapid assessment method based on reliability increments. First, the reliability metrics of the expanded distribution network are decomposed into the reliability metrics of the existing network and the reliability increment from the expansion. By reusing existing reliability metrics and computing only the increment, this method significantly reduces computational complexity. Second, an incremental-relevant fault state identification technique is developed to screen fault states impacting reliability increments while filtering out irrelevant states, further enhancing evaluation efficiency. Finally, validation based on a modified RBTS Bus6 Feeder4 test case demonstrates that the proposed method markedly improves the efficiency of reliability assessment for the distribution network expansion planning.
