the winter heating load is significantly greater than the summer cooling load. The long-term operation of a standalone ground source heat pump (GSHP) system leads to a gradual decline in system performance. To address this problem
a photovoltaic/thermal-ground source heat pump (PV/T-GSHP) simulation model is established using the TRNSYS software. The PV/T installation area is determined according to different power generation requirements
and the effects of different PV/T supply and return water temperature difference control strategies on system heating and cooling performance are investigated. The annual thermal performance of the PV/T-GSHP system is comprehensively analyzed. The results show that when the power generation satisfies the energy demands for daily lighting
heat pump operation
and water pump operation
the coefficient of performance (COP) of the heat pump unit is 4.21 in the heating season and 6.33 in the cooling season. After 10 a of continuous operation
the soil temperature decreases by 1.95 ℃ compared with the initial state. When the temperature difference between the PV/T outlet and the preheating water tank decreases from 8 ℃ to 6 ℃
the system energy consumption increases by 2.24%
the power generation increases by 1.63%
and the unmet domestic hot water demand decreases by 16%. It is concluded that reasonable determination of the PV/T installation area and optimal setting of the PV/T temperature difference control strategy can effectively improve the long-term operational performance of the PV/T-GSHP system.
