A novel winding-reconfigurable fault-tolerant power converter for switched reluctance motor systems in electric vehicles
To address the challenge of achieving both a wide speed regulation range and high reliability in conventional switched reluctance motor drive systems
a novel winding-reconfigurable fault-tolerant power converter is proposed. First
the topology of the proposed converter is presented
which utilizes five power switches and one power diode per phase. Subsequently
the operating modes
operating states
and fault characteristics of the proposed converter are analyzed in detail. Compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridge converter
which only supports a fixed winding configuration
the proposed topology not only enables online reconfiguration of multiple motor winding connections but also provides fault-tolerant operation in the event of power converter device failures. Finally
a simulation model and an experimental platform of the drive system based on the proposed converter are constructed. Both simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed converter in achieving online winding reconfiguration and fault-tolerant operation.
