Research on joint decision-making for overhead line inspection and graded maintenance based on health index
To address the difficulty of balancing long-term costs and failure risks in overhead transmission line maintenance
where inspection intervals are fixed and maintenance levels largely depend on empirical judgment
a joint inspection and maintenance decision-making method is proposed. A health index is introduced as a unified measure of the overall line condition
and a health index evolution model incorporating both continuous aging and shock-induced deterioration is developed. Considering the practical relationship between increasing maintenance costs and deteriorating equipment condition
a joint inspection and multi-level maintenance decision model is established based on the partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP). Finally
with the objective of minimizing the total life-cycle costs
a Monte Carlo tree search method is employed to jointly optimize the inspection intervals and multi-level maintenance strategies. Case studies show that
compared with conventional maintenance strategies
the proposed model significantly reduces the life-cycle cost under both fixed and condition-dependent maintenance cost scenarios
providing decision support for maintenance strategy optimization
risk control
and refined asset management of overhead transmission lines.
