Joint optimization of electricity market and peaking ancillary service market of coal-fired units under low carbon target
reasonable operation of the existing coal-fired units is not only a security guarantee for the new power system
but also can provide sufficient system flexibility for a high penetration rate of renewable energy. From a system point of view
a two-stage model is established to optimize the overall economy of coal-fired units which participate in the electricity market and peaking auxiliary service market.Considering the technical characteristics of different coal-fired units
the overall economic and environmental benefits in different deep peaking schemes are compared. The results show that
deep peaking of coal-fired units can promote renewable energy penetration and reduce carbon emissions on the generation side
but the overall revenue varies significantly across different peaking depths and some units are suitable for deep peaking and there is an optimal peaking interval. On this basis
the mechanism design of the power market should consider the technical characteristics of different units
which is conducive to optimizing the operating efficiency of coal-fired units and supporting a high penetration rate of renewable energy.
