Economic analysis of semi-closed re-compression S-CO2 Brayton cycle with inherent CO2 capture
Near-zero emission power generation technology is one of the important technical means to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality in China. A thermodynamic performance calculation model was established for semi-closed re-compression supercritical caobon dioxide(S-CO_2) Brayton cycle
and the economic performance evaluation model was built based on the levelized cost of electricity and carbon capture cost. Morover
sensitivity analysis of key parameters was carried out. The results show that
the net efficiency of the semi-closed recompression S-CO_2 cycle is 46.05%
and the levelized cost of electricity is 609.4 yuan/(MW·h) under the condition of almost 100% carbon capture. The cost of carbon capture is 204.1 yuan/t
which is far lower than the average carbon emission reduction cost of China's power industry. In addition
fuel prices have an important effect on the levelized cost of electricity and carbon capture cost. A 40.0% increase in fuel prices will lead to a 33.6%increase in the levelized cost of electricity and a 17.2% increase in carbon capture costs.
