Life extension study and economic analysis of coal-fired power units in China
The large scale of China's existing coal-fired power plants urges that the transformation and development of coal-fired power units be one of the most important paths to achieve carbon peak and neutrality goals. Especially in 2030
about 10% of China's coal-fired units will be near the end of their design life. The shutdown or life extension strategy of these units has very important significance to ensure the safety of the power system and achieve the carbon peak and neutrality goals on schedule. The significance of life extension of coal-fired units is discussed.Based on the analysis of the service life of domestic and abroad coal-fired units
current policies and the units got continued operation license recently
the economic evaluation model is built to analyze the effect of main factors on life extension. The results show that
the extended years
renovation investment and running hours have a great impact on the economics of life extension. Under the premise of safety and environmental requirements
it is necessary to develop a reasonable and feasible renovation plan according to the safety evaluation to reduce renovation investment for life extension. It is also important to fully consider the positioning
operational methods and the running hours to assess life extension and shutdown scheme.
