Thermophysical properties of working fluid of supercritical carbon dioxide cycle: research progress
Supercritical carbon dioxide(S-CO_2) cycle is a power generation technology that has attracted extensive focus in recent years. Knowledge about thermophysical properties of the cycle's working fluid is fundamental for power generation research. The experimental data and calculation models for CO_2 thermodynamic and transport properties are reviewed
and combing with the design and operation demand of the S-CO_2 power system
corresponding analysis is carried out. Against the research progress
several problems that need to be solved urgently are pointed out. The experimental and modeling research is still needed in the near-critical region. Experimental research about specific heat capacity
speed of sound
viscosity and thermal conductivity is blank in liquid phase area and high-temperature/high-pressure regions. Various available property calculation models are lack of systematic evaluation and comparison in application of power generation cycle. It suggests that
for thermophisical properties of CO_2 needed in S-CO_2 cycle where the research is unavailable or scarce
further experimental and modeling works should be carried out
and the current works should be evaluated systematically.
