Experimental on cold briquetting characteristics of Wulagai lignite semi-coke with biomass
Semi-coke is one of the main by-products of coal chemical industry. It has the disadvantage of high pulverization rate
and it is easy to raise dust and difficult to transport. Using biomass as a binder to make semicoke into briquette products can overcome this shortcoming. This research carried out an experimental study on the strength and combustion characteristics of the forming briquette with Wulgai lignite semi-coke and biomass. The effects of biomass type
biomass ratio
forming pressure and biomass particle size on the drop strength
compressive strength and water immersion strength of semi-coke briquette were investigated
and the cold forming parameters were recommended. Taking the Wulagai semi-coke coal with 60% biomass as an example
when the forming pressure is above 90 MPa
the drop strength of the semi-coke coal can reach 80%
and the compressive strength and immersion strength can reach 4 MPa. In addition
the semi-coke biomass briquette has good combustion characteristics and can be used as an excellent civil fuel.
