Experimental study on washing regeneration process of activated coke for desulfurization
The washing regeneration characteristics of five kinds of activated cokes for flue gas desulfurization were studied. The effect of washing regeneration process on pore structure and surface chemical properties of the activated coke was characterized by specific surface area(BET) and X photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) methods
and the key factors of washing regeneration were revealed. The results show that
there is no direct relationship between sulfur capacity and washing regeneration rate. The activated coke with larger micropore specific surface area has better desulfurization performance
and the activated coke with larger mesopore pore volume has higher washing regeneration rate. The activated coke suitable for washing regeneration process has larger micropore specific surface area and mesopore pore volume structure. The higher the content of polar oxygen-containing functional groups
the better the washing regeneration effect. After six washing regeneration cycles
H2 SO4 in micropores of activated coke AC5 can be washed out after accumulating for many times
and the stable regeneration rate is maintained at 45%~50%
which is most suitable for washing regeneration process.
