Oxy-fuel circulating fluidized bed(CFB) is a novel CO2 capture technology with bright application prospects. The layout of boiler heating surface and the distribution of heat load are the key to further demonstration of oxy-fuel combustion. The Johnsson model and particle cluster renewal model were used to set up a onedimensional model for 350 MW CFB boiler
and the overall conceptual design of the oxy-CFB boiler layout in 30%O2/70%CO2 atmosphere integrated with steam system was performed. Moreover
the geometry of the designed boiler was compared with an air-fired CFB boiler with the same capacity. The results show that
for the oxy-CFB boiler
the heat loss of exhaust gas greatly reduces and the boiler thermal efficiency can reach 94.18%. Compared with the air-fired CFB boiler
the oxy-CFB boiler's air distributor area
furnace cross-sectional area and tail flue duct area decreases significantly
it is necessary to add external heat exchanger to absorb the heat load. The study provides a reference for further scale up of oxy-CFB boilers.
