Pilot scale test study of constant current source and constant voltage source for electrostatic precipitator
High-voltage power supply is the core component of electrostatic precipitator. This paper conducted a pilot test on the spur line-plate single-chamber wet electrostatic precipitator test platform
using an electrostatic lowpressure impactor(ELPI) to measure the charge of different particle sizes and its particle size-concentration distribution in real time. The test parameters such as the dust removal efficiency
particle charge characteristics
VI characteristics
power consumption of the two types of power supply were compared. The test results showed that
the maximum average voltage of the output of the constant voltage source was higher than that of the constant current source without excessive spark breakdown
70 kV and 55 kV respectively
and the corona current was 7.12 mA and 6.00 mA respectively
and the corresponding maximum dust removal efficiency were 85.9% and 84.2%
respectively. Compared with constant current source
the constant voltage source can save energy by 20%. Therefore
the constant voltage source has more advantages in technology and economy than the constant current source. The relevant conclusions have important reference value for the upgrading of electrostatic precipitators.
